Poetry Bug: Perhaps the most common foot in english poetry is the iamb.

Poetry Bug: The iamb has to yllables. The second syllable in an iamb is spoken more forcefull than the first. Words like "alive" (a-live) and "without" (with-out) are examples of iambs.
