Another poem from the book MOXIE DAY and Family!

Paying Attention

Sometimes I like to sit and think
of weird and wacky things,
like goats with capes
and coats for grapes
and phones with wedding rings.

Then other times I lie around
and have the oddest thoughts,
where clowns made kings
wed worms with wings
and tie themselves in knots.

Then when I have to concentrate
my mind will get all funny,
and chocolate rains
on subway planes
and the moon is dipped in honey.

The worlds that wander through my mind
are worlds that don't exist.
But there's not one
that isn't fun
so how can I resist?
