Another poem from the book MOXIE DAY and Family!

Getting Out

Button, button, Velcro, snap,
puffy coat and woolly cap.
A dozen strings that must be tied.
All this work to go outside.

Zipper, zipper, fasten, click,
smelly boots make me sick.
Try ten times to tie a knot.
The weather's cool, boots are not.

Tugging, pulling, buckle, belt,
run outside before I melt.
When I finally hit the snow…
Emergency! I have to go!
